We just got home from a really fun night. Though their real anniversary is on the 26th, my sisters and I threw a surprise 35th anniversary party for my parents tonight and it was a really fun and special time. It was a total surprise for my mom, my dad was in on it for the most part. One of the best things it was being in a place where there are people from different worlds, but all of them have both been impacted by my parents and have impacted my parents as well.
My sisters and I shared brief (or not so brief) tributes to my parents. Carrie even got her “special friend” to help her sing a song in honor of my parents. It was very good.
My other main contribution to the evening was a slideshow documenting my parent’s 35 years together. It was fun to do, the hardest part was cutting out pictures because there were so many good ones and so many pictures of them with friends that I wanted to include. However, the planning committee (the virtue siblings + spouses) determined that we had to keep it under 8 minutes. Anyway, I’m posting it here if you want to see it and have the time. Enjoy.
