That’s what I’m talking about. On to the Elite 8 baby! That shouldn’t have been as close as it was, but there were some better signs that some of the guys who have been struggling are starting to raise their game. They have to play way better than that though to get to the Final Four. I get a little more time in the next couple days to chill out before I totally implode from sports anxiety on Saturday.
Back to Texas A&M for a brief moment. I heard an awesome promo/audio segment on a sports radio show today. They took a call from a Texas A&M from a call in show who was just protesting and crying and whining and touting conspiracies and everything and they overlaid it over an audio track of a baby crying in the background. After 30 seconds then they abruptly close it out with a “Whatever, On to the Sweet 16!” It was my love language – so funny and a great response to all the crying. I thought Texas A&M was an impressive team and there were some calls that were not made at the expense of both teams in that game. A&M got hosed on that last play, I agree. But it is very poor to not give credit to UCLA for how clutch they were in that game in the 2nd half. Love & Collison manned up in a big way.
On the bracket side of things, man – this is my worst year ever from a bracket standpoint. Last year I came in 3rd out of a 35+ person pool. Now I gotta be in the bottom 2. I had such genius elite 8 picks like Indiana, Marquette, Pitt, USC and other under-performing teams. The bracket is out the window now, it’s all about the Bruins now!
