So here is another preaching book I’m having to read. It was a quick one. It’s on the kind of preaching that involves pretending to be a character in the story or narrative that is being preached. It’s where preaching meets drama.
I don’t do drama and I really don’t do preaching hardly ever so you can tell how much I feel like I have use for this book. However, for the 7-8 people that check this blog from time to time with “pastor” in their job title I thought it was worth a mention.
It’s a great book if you want to do more storytelling in your preaching. If you like the drama thing, this is a great tool and resource to help develop your style with regards to first-person preaching.
That this book is co-written by preaching guru Haddon Robinson brings some credibility and is a plus. I’m actually glad he’s written something like this because I had wondered if he was wrapped up in the 3-pt outline scene. But it’s good stuff, if this is your thing. However, clearly it is not mine so I won’t be coming back to this book probably ever.
