So I began my Valentine’s Day taking out my awesome and beautiful daughter on our first Valentine’s Day Date. We had plans to do breakfast together and then do a little shopping together.
She came back to my room while I was getting ready and said, “Dada, can you wear a tie around your neck like you did in Chicago?” I was surprised at first, but then I remembered that I had a conversation with her about guys wearing ties to important events in Chicago because she was curious about all of us guys who were wearing ties at the viewing and memorial service of my grandma in November. Either she remembered the part about “important events” and was really into the specialness of our date or she just really thinks I look hot in a tie. It’s probably the former, but it’s still quite fun to hear from your almost 4-year old daughter, “Dada, you look so handsome!” (doesn’t make it true though)
We had lots of fun and I love being able to share these special moments with her. She really gets into special days and celebrations more than either me or her mother so it’s a unique part of who she is and it’s fun to share that with her.
I love that I have two amazingly beautiful Valentines in my life and that I get to share today with each of them.
