There was a fascinating little section on Jesus and question asking in the book I just reviewed, I Was Once Lost.They point out that Jesus is asked 183 questions in the Gospels. They say that he answers just three of them – and he asks 307 questions back! (pg. 54)I might disagree with some semantics. I think Jesus actually answered much more than 3 questions, but it’s probably quite right that he only answered 3 questions directly. But it is a startling contrast when one thinks about Jesus and the way he related to people.Given that contrast, it makes the current Christian reputation more sad as Christians tend to be generalized as a group that typically tries to give more answers than ask questions.
