Awesome End to the 10 in 10-Dave&Carrie Unplugged!

by Beav on December 29, 2010

I’ve tried to get my sister Carrie to do a guest post for a while, but the timing hasn’t worked out.  But given that today is my birthday she and her husband are giving me a great birthday gift.  In lieu of a written guest post, I’m excited to have my final guest post of 2010 an audio guest post!

One of the most enjoyable gifts we got for Christmas this year was a fun cd that Carrie and her husband Dave (the very same one from the Colin hero video) made for family and friends, “Dave and Carrie Unplugged.”  With the influx of babies in my side of the family lately they wanted to do a lullaby type cd so the babies could hear their voices.  They got loose with garage band and a mac and the end product was a fun cd where they cover some great songs and it came out really well.  It’s been on repeat at our house.

Songs include Time After Time, Hallelujah, and Human Nature as an MJ “tribute” :) Dave & Carrie are letting me post a couple songs for your listen and a link to download the mp3s here as well.  These are three of my favorites from the cd.  White Horse is a Christmas themed song that I really like (Over the Rhine), The Fear You Won’t Fall (Joshua Rabin) is a great duet, and Dave does a great job with Flame Turns Blue (David Gray). The audio players should load up in the page for you. Enjoy!

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

For a homemade job, I think it’s pretty amazing and I think you’ll enjoy it.  You can download the whole of their “unplugged” cd here (Right click, “Save link as..”).

If you have a listen, feel free to drop a comment and let them know what you liked! I couldn’t think of a better way to wrap up the “10 in 10″ guest post series. Thanks to Jim, Stephanie, Christine, Tom, Eunice, Nolan, TJ, Carrie, & Dave for helping make it happen!

OMG. I WANT this cd but I'm having trouble. There's no 'Save as.." just 'Save link as…' and then tells me there's nothing in the saved zip folder when I try to open it. hints or tips? I'm willing to pay for a burned disk if that's the best option.

Roberta – not sure what happened, but I’ll fix it when I get back to a better internet connection.

Roberta, I fixed it and tested it out so it's good to go. Right click, click save link as… and it will download the zip file. When it's downloaded double click it and the folder with the mp3s will pop up.
