Quick Review: Fast Times

I read Fast Times: How Digital Winners Set Direction, Learn, and Adapt by Arun Arora as one of the resources to keep learning about digital transformation in the midst of all the change going on this year.

This book is really written for corporate executives so there was a lot to gain, but also a lot that for my current needs and roles I did find very relevant or helpful.  There’s a lot that just wouldn’t be helpful for most people who are trying to figure out digital transformation.

What is helpful is the compelling case for digital transformation and the perspectives from a macro level of how to evaluate organizations and guide change.  The practicals are a bit lacking or not as relevant to the average leader, but the perspectives and insights are sound.  The main thrust is that organizations must consistently overall themselves to be able to move fast, be responsive to changing needs, and stay agile for future opportunities.

This book may not be for you unless you are more versed in some measure of digital transformation theory already.
